On Saturday 2nd December 2017, the school held its annual Christmas Fair. Leading up to the fair our class were busy making decorations and items to sell. Charley carefully filled baubles with cat and dog treats, and all of us participated in decorating sweet cones with eyes and nose that eventually became reindeer hot chocolate and Santa sweets. We especially enjoyed trying some of the sweets and marshmallows to ensure they were OK to sell!!
Since coming back to school in September, our class have been enjoying using the new sensory area in the Hillcrest Centre. This area has a fantastic sensory room with interactive lights and bubble tube as well as a new soft play room. Our class use the sensory area during play times, where we can share the facilities with other pupils from the school. This is great for developing our turn taking skills and enables us to have more opportunities for interacting with our peers.
We also use the area with our Occupational Therapist, Christine, and our Speech and Language Therapist, Louise, as part of our Communication and Intensive Interaction curriculum.
We are really enjoying the new sensory area and look forward to using it more as the year progresses.
