Letter from the Associate Director and Head of School

Letter from the Associate Director and Head of School

Associate Director – I  have had the privilege of leading Northern Counties School for the past ten years as its head teacher and I have seen the school grow and develop to achieve its outstanding status in its most recent Ofsted inspection. My role as Associate Director now enables me to support both our school and our college as we continue to flourish.

Head of School – the new post of Head of School has been created in response to our growing numbers and I am delighted to have the opportunity to join this outstanding special school with a rich history and proven track record of improvement.

We provide an all age (3-19 years) day and residential special education for children who have a hearing impairment or visual impairment, those with profound and multiple learning disabilities and autistic spectrum disorder all of whom require education, therapy and care within a specialist communication environment.

We offer a learning environment where “Learning and achievement are outstanding … all groups of pupils thrive to an exceptional extent,” and “pupils make enormous progress in communicating” Ofsted March 2013.

Your decision to have your child educated at Hedleys Northern Counties School is one of the most important decisions you will make. You will be delighted to know that our pupils “enjoy school…and their behaviour is exceedingly good” Ofsted March 2013.

Please do read more of our website and contact us if you would like to visit school or find out more about our services.
